Advance Seat Reservation – Terms & Conditions

Advance Seat Reservation is complimentary for passengers booked on Business Class, Economy fare families of Eco Flex, Eco Semi Flex (booking classes*: Y/B/P/H/K/W/M/E /X) on or after the ticket purchase.

Passengers booked on Economy fare families of Eco saver and Eco Value (booking classes: L/R/V/S/N/Q/O)

  • Are not entitled to do advance seat reservation Free of charge. Instead, they need to pay for the preferred seat.
  • This is applicable for all flights operated by SriLankan Airlines on or after the ticket purchase.
  • Advance Seat Reservation is complimentary for un-occupied seats, when online check-in opens, from 24 hours prior departure
  • Charges are per seat, per flight segment.
  • Prices quoted are subject to change and may vary due to fluctuations in exchange rates.
  • Advance Seat Reservation charges are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for any voluntary itinerary changes.

FlySmiLes members of Platinum & Gold, and oneworld Emerald, Sapphire members, are allowed complimentary seat selection on or after ticket purchase.

Accompanied passengers of FFP Platinum & Gold and oneworld Emerald, Sapphire members will be exempt from Advance seat Reservation charges, if they are on the same booking (PNR).

Passengers traveling with infants, unaccompanied minors, passengers eligible for wheelchair facility up to the cabin, will be given seats without an additional charge.


Modifications to Advance Seat Reservation

  • You may change your seat free of charge on the originally booked flight
  • In the case of voluntary changes to your travel itinerary, the Advance Seat Reservation will not be transferable for the modified segments (Non exchangeable and non-refundable).
  • Please note that in case of involuntary changes, due to flight disruption, aircraft change, or for other operational, safety or security reasons, we may have to move you to a different seat; In the event of involuntary seat changes, if you are not satisfied with your replacement seat you may request for a refund.
  • Refund requests should be submitted through our online refund form
  • Advance Seat Reservation charges will not be refunded in the event you are travel in business class due to a voluntary or involuntary upgrade.
