World recognition for Dhanushka

Giving the SriLankan Family another reason to celebrate, Environmental Compliance and Planning Manager Dhanushka De Silva was identified as one of the one of the Honorees of ‘the Environment + Energy 100’, a “best of” list for environment and energy professionals in the world, in the annual assessment handle by Environment and Energy Leaders Institute, USA together with Industry Magazines, ‘Environmental leader’ and ‘Energy manger Today’.

The organizations recognize and honour leaders, innovators, shaker-uppers and doers in the environmental and energy management space across the globe.

Dhanushka was awarded the recognition at the fourth annual Environmental leader and Energy Manger Conference (ELEMCON), held on May 13th to 15th, 2019, at the Marriott Denver Tech Centre, USA.

With experience of two decades in SriLankan Airlines, Dhanushka has been heading the Environment Strategy & Compliance Unit from its inception, and implemented many Environmental Projects within the Company. He received the E+E recognition for his work at SriLankan Airlines and some of the key projects he implemented at SriLankan, including ‘flygreen’ – the voluntary carbon offset project, the ‘United for Wildlife’ initiative, the Airline’s Waste Management Programme and also the ‘School Green Club’ project which was co-implemented with SriLankan Cares.
