SriLankan Becomes a Patron of Biodiversity Sri Lanka

The core ideals that drive SriLankan’s green movement is built upon the notion of integrating nature lovers towards combating environmental dilemmas as a combined force. In this context, Airline’s efforts at effectively tackling the environment issues were further strengthened, as they recently became a patron of the Biodiversity Sri Lanka.

This platform focuses on integrating private sector and conservation agencies with the purpose of creating a forum where they could draw strength and knowledge from each other in their endeavors to tackle the issues that plague the environment. The Airline became one of the first twenty five companies to hold the ‘Patron membership’ of Biodiversity Sri Lanka, making the Airline a part of an esteemed group that is dedicated to environment conservation.

SriLankan Airlines believes that the core business strategy should be aligned with Company’s ideals on environment conservation. Therefore the Airline is constantly seeking ways to form lasting strategies that enable sustainable growth of the Company. The Environment Unit which drives the Company’s green agenda strongly feels that being part of the esteemed group who are committed to environmental conservation will enable the Airline to share and gain necessary exposure, resources and insights that they require to tackle the environment issues.

The Biodiversity Sri Lanka primary objectives include adding economic value to biodiversity conservation and integrate it into the core business of companies, promoting national cooperation and the exchange of ideas and information while strengthening and increasing the involvement of the private sector in biodiversity conservation. The platform creates a network where the responsible entities could interact and cooperate together in developing strategies and initiating projects that drive the green movement.
