The Human Resources Division of SriLankan Airlines introduces its International Aviation Academy, the most comprehensive private sector training facility in the island. Adhering to world class standards maintained by SriLankan, accredited by IATA, International Air Transport Association, Montréal, Canada as a leading authorized training centre for providing training solutions for the region.

It is accredited with the International Airline Training Association (IATA), Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing (SLIM), University of Moratuwa and the Travel Agents’ Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL).

As the market leader in the arena of aviation training in Sri Lanka, IAA has garnered top national and international accolades in recognition of its contribution to the field of Aviation training. IATA has recognized the centre as one of its ‘Top Ten’ training partners in South Asia. IAA was also the first in the region to be declared as an IATA Regional Training Facility for international aviation training and runs an overseas branch in Maldives.

SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, having understood its role in the country’s aviation sector now offers professional qualifications in the aviation sector; a dream come true for many who want to start up their career in the aviation industry.

The International Aviation Academy (IAA) is now offering a portfolio of 8 training modules under its main faculties namely, Cargo, Airport Services, Delivery and Flight Operations, Fares, Reservations and Ticketing, Soft Skills.

The uniqueness of IAA training modules is that they are accredited by many local and international organizations such as the International Airline Training Association (IATA), Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing (SLIM), University of Moratuwa and the Travel Agents’ Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL).

Whether it is a school-leaver or novice, IAA will equip the individual with the necessary skills and knowledge to get a head start in the industry. In the case of experienced professionals, these courses will help them keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of aviation.

At IAA all lessons are delivered by a panel of professional instructors from the airline industry, who will add value through their combined knowledge, first-hand experience and practical examples of working in the respective area of the industry. The main training facility is located in Katunayake, in close proximity to the airport. Lessons are also conducted in Colombo, at the SriLankan Airlines’ Cargo building located at Devos Avenue, Bambalapitiya.
